World-renowned shopping can be found at the famous Mall of America and there are plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy like jogging and boating along the Chain of Lakes scenic byways.

Sports enthusiasts will thrill at the expansive Target Field. The popular baseball park is situated in the center of the historic warehouse district and is home to the state’s Major League Baseball team, the Minnesota Twins.

 

 

A big cultural draw to the city is the Minneapolis Museum of Art which houses more than 83,000 works of art that chronical more than 5,000 years. Visitors to the museum can view everything from Ancient Egyptian artifacts to works by European masterpieces like Titian and Monet.

Five bodies of water make up the renowned Chain of Lakes and include Lake Harriet which features live music in the summer and two beaches for relaxing. And, Lake Calhoun attracts visitors for boating and bike rentals. The Lake of the Isles, Brownie Lake and Cedar Lake are relaxing and scenic venues for an afternoon picnic and peaceful stroll.

Welcoming visitors from all over the globe, the Guthrie Theater in the downtown district of Minneapolis is one of the most famous theaters in the nation. Opening in 1963, the theater receives accolades for its unique balance of classical theater and avant-garde productions.
